ACCORDING TO MINISTRY OF MANPOWER (MOM) RULES
Maid Insurance
Singaporean Domestic Employers of Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) are required to purchase a medical insurance, a personal accident insurance, and a security bond for their helper in accordance to the Ministry of Manpower’s regulations before the helper arrives in Singapore.

How Can Employers Purchase A Maid Insurance Plan?

At The 11th Street Agency, we assist employers through every step of arranging the required maid insurance and security bond.
Our team works closely with trusted insurance partners to provide competitive rates and clear plan options, allowing you to make informed decisions that meet MOM’s requirements.
From paperwork to policy selection, we handle the details carefully to ensure full compliance and peace of mind for every employer.
The Essentials For Maid Insurance And Security Bonds
Medical Insurance
Under the latest Ministry of Manpower requirements (effective 1 July 2023, with enhancements from 1 July 2025), every employer must purchase medical insurance for their helper with a minimum annual coverage of SGD 60,000 for inpatient care and day surgery.
From July 2025 onwards, insurers are required to:
-
Follow MOM’s standardised exclusion list
-
Offer age-based premium tiers
-
Settle eligible hospital bills directly with medical institutions
At The 11th Street Agency, we work with trusted insurance partners to ensure every plan we recommend meets these updated standards, giving both employers and helpers peace of mind.
Personal Accident Insurance
All employers must also provide personal accident insurance with a minimum coverage of SGD 60,000 per year.
This policy protects your helper in the event of permanent disability or death, and any compensation is paid directly to the helper or her nominated beneficiaries.

We guide you in selecting the right (PAI) plan that fulfils MOM’s requirements while offering practical protection for your helper’s well-being.
Security Bond
Before your helper’s arrival, Singapore employers (except those hiring Malaysian helpers) are required to purchase a security bond of SGD 5,000.

This bond ensures that employers remain responsible for the helper’s salary payment, proper upkeep, and timely repatriation.

The bond will be discharged once the helper returns home and no conditions have been breached.
At The 11th Street Agency, we assist you in arranging this bond smoothly as part of the hiring process.
